Durham Campus Valet Parking and Garage Parking for Patients Patients with scheduled appointments may have free valet parking from 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday, excluding holidays. Veterans must present their Veteran Identification Card (VIC) and appointment letter in order to use the free valet parking system. To access the valet parking area, please enter the Medical Center at the Fulton Street entrance and bear to your left toward the Ambulatory Care Entrance. Please note that no tipping is allowed for the valet parking attendants. Patients without scheduled appointments and visitors may park in our Parking Deck on levels 3 and 4, adjacent to the entrance on Erwin Road. Veterans may access the deck at the parking kiosk by presenting their VIC or by taking a ticket from the automatic dispenser. On busy days (especially Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays), it may take up to 30 minutes to drop off vehicles for valet parking or to find a parking space in the garage. Patients should add 60 minutes to their expected travel time from home in order to find parking and check in for appointments on the main campus. Parking in the deck is free of charge for veterans. For all others, parking rates are: $1.50 for the first 30 minutes, and thereafter $1.00 per hour up to a maximum of $8.00 per day. If you cannot find a parking space please contact the parking manager at the booth, call 286-1414, or VA police at extension 176230 to request assistance.
