Work Status for Employees

Situation Update

As of Thursday, September 20, 2018 7:57 AM EDT

Director statement regarding reporting for duty:
From Our ELT

Below is the plan for operating status of our sites of care:

  • Morehead City CBOC will remain closed thru Sept. 21. Veterans needing urgent medical needs and/ or a hot meal please report to our mobile medical unit located at the Walmart in Havelock, at 566 US-70. Veterans can also go to the Greenville HCC or call 919-286-0411. For updates: https://www.facebook.com/VADurham. Please call 211 or 1-888-892-1162 for info about shelters or food assistance.
  • Greenville HCC is open and is fully operational.
  • The Community Based Outpatient Clinics in the Raleigh-Durham are fully operational.
  • Durham VA Medical Center is fully operational.

Every employee has a key role in hospital operations and in the ability of the DVAHCS to provide care to the Veterans we serve. All staff should ensure that your supervisor has your correct contact information so that we are able to reach you when the callback cascade is activated. This allows us to be able to account for your safety, which is our top priority. It is also allows us to recall staff on AA status to support DVAMC operations if necessary.

Thank you for all that you do on behalf of our Veterans, and your attention to detail in preparation for Hurricane Florence. I encourage all of you to prepare for the impending storm as soon as possible to ensure you and your family are safe.
